"concerned" parent: blah blah blah misogyny and since no woman can see the future, she might regret her abortion so she shouldn't be able to make the decision to abort since she is incapable of making a rational decision.

me: Misogynist.

"concerned" parent: YOU HAVE PERSONAL ISSUES BECAUSE YOU CALLED ME A MISOGYNIST.

arkitekt: WTF YOU WOULDN'T FORCE YOUR CHILD TO UNDERGO RISKY SURGERIES AND HORRIBLE, PAINFUL CANCER TREATMENTS IF S/HE DIDN'T WANT TO CONTINUE?!?! YOU WOULD BE A HORRIBLE MOTHER!!1!!

A woman has as much a risk of regretting her kids as she does regretting her abortion. Personally, I'd rather regret an abortion (which, apparently, only lasts five years) than a child (which lasts at least 18, probably until one of you die).

And, that guy's a douche.

I know.

I want to ask him if some woman aborted his baybee, seeing as his can't stand the fact that women alone choose whether to give birth or abort.

God. OMG TEH MENTAL RETARDATION.

Case by case, dumbfuck. If she's deemed capable of making decisions, and being somewhat self sufficient, then fuck yes, it should be her decision.

Mental retardation is a varying thing. Mental retardation doesn't automatically mean that you've got the mental capacity of a vegetable. My cousin, Danny, is two or three years older than my dad, but he will never progress beyond the teenage years. He can still hold a job, he can still date and have sex. I trust teenagers to make those decisions.

And EVEN IF a person is mentally a six year old, they can be taught to function in society, and to take care of themselves (with a little supervision and a few safety nets). They can learn about sex and love and relationships and dating. They can raise children. Not alone, but how many "normal" parents raise their kids with no help?

And, if they CAN'T, for whatever reason, then yes, someone else has to take care of them. That someone else should be someone who truly has their best interests at heart.

Asshole.

Seriously. He acts like this is some OMG HUGE INCONSISTENCY AHAHAHAHAHA I WIN!!!!1 in the pro-choice stance.

Legally, the choice should remain with the woman. If the woman isn't capable of making her own decisions, well, then the law wouldn't apply to her. He's trying to make some kind of issue out of it when it's not relevant to the law.

I've been browsing PLT lately and I'm not impressed with this guy's poor smokescreen. You don't have to look hard to see his true colors, his sexism has already reared its ugly head a few times.

Who wants to start a countdown on how long it will take for him to just drop the disguise and launch full on into misogyny mode? I give it another week, at best. The biggest woman haters are the ones who start out trying to mask what they are with a thin veil of excuses. The patronizing comments he's made to some of the pc women who have responded to him so far speaks volumes to me.

Agreed. I noticed that immediately, coupled with his use of "we" and "us" when he was stating his opinions, as if the rest of us would just fall over ourselves to agree.

Christ, I can only take so much of, "Yes, unkai, you think it's not a person, but I DO SO I WIN" before my brain starts to creak under the strain.

Also, Altari's whole "just 'cause it's not pro-woman doesn't make it anti-women, oh and we're talking about GIRLS, not WOMEN, so it's CLEARLY COMPLETELY DIFFERENT."

I feel so much better not having to read this stuff daily. But I LOVE the edited highlights.

I KNOW!!!

"blah blah blah these are my personal philosophical beliefs" magically becomes "WE MUST DO THIS AND YOU MUST DO THIS BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT IS RIGHT"

wtf? KILL YOURSELVES, FUCKTARDS.

And yet, even when prochoicers say, "Look, this is just my opinion/faith/belief" it's instantly, "BUT YOUR RONG!!!111"

Whereas THEIR opinions are gospel fact.

How ARE people this stupid?

It's somewhere in that trainwreck of a thread. My eyes glazed over fairly quickly.
